Simulator-based training center to be FAA 142 approved
APR 15, 2008 - FlyRight Inc. announced today that its simulator-based flight training center, which is on-track for FAA 142 Training Center approval this month, will be located at the Concord Regional Airport in Concord, NC. FlyRight considered several locations prior to choosing the Charlotte area for its simulator-based King Air training programs, and expects to open its doors for training within 45 days.
Jim Crawford, Director of Operations for FlyRight, noted “Our Concord location is a win-win-win situation for FlyRight, the city of Concord, and our customers. The proximity to numerous hotels, shopping, golf and entertainment is a real benefit to our customers, as is year-round good weather”. The Concord Regional Airport, home to many corporate operators and NASCAR teams, is the busiest general aviation airport in the state, and is only a 20 minute drive from the Charlotte Douglas international airport. FlyRight’s 10,000 square foot training center will be the only simulator-based training program for corporate pilots between Washington and Atlanta.
The soon-to-be-approved 142 Training Center will offer initial and recurrent training for pilots of the popular Beechcraft King Air series of aircraft. Beechcraft King Air aircraft have been in production since 1964 and over 6,000 King Airs have been produced – and the demand for King Air pilots is growing. FlyRight’s King Air B200 and 1900 Level-C simulator, which was approved by the FAA earlier this year, will be used for the training programs.
