Careers – Simulator Technicians

Purpose of Position

The Simulator Technician successfully completes diverse tasks of the job. Maintains and / or repairs Full Flight Simulators (FFS) and Flight Training Devices (FTDs) in accordance with Regulatory Authority requirements and company standards.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Perform standard Simulator support activities.
  • Makes mechanical modifications, software updates, and repairs to all training devices.
  • Performs pre and post operation inspections, configuration changes.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, repair, or replace different components within the Simulators or FTD.
  • Able to accomplish basic tasks associated with the Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
  • Make recommendations or source needed parts when requested, or other material used for repair and support.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, with a high drive to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to work independent or within a team to achieve common goals.
  • Report any safety hazards observed in work area, equipment, and/or building as per company Safety Program.

Minimum Education / Experience

  • Associates degree in electronics from a college or completion of a civilian/military electronics technical school preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience, including civilian/military electronics, or related technical experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Able to cross catwalks, walk up and down steps, climb ladders to a height of eighteen feet.
